charity: water Writing Kit

This kit was completed during my PRL 215 public relations writing course at Syracuse University. It focuses on made-up materials to showcase different public relations writing techniques through materials for the nonprofit charity: water. The kit includes a press release, email pitch, news release, 3 audience personas, goals, objectives, messages, tactics and execution plan, newsletter, memorandum, intranet/email to employees, op-ed piece, letter to the editor, website content, news jacking audiences and tactics, talking points and a speech.

Coca-Cola & charity: water Collaboration Media Kit & Graphics

For my public relations writing course, we had to create a collaboration between a company and organization. The event that I created was the Sexiest H20 Bash, featuring Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. This media kit includes a media alert, press release, fact sheet, backgrounder, bios for the chairmanĀ and CEO of Coca-Cola, the founder of charity: water, the senior water program officer of charity: water, Adam Levine, and my own made-up biography for my position as the chief public affairs and communications officer of Coca-Cola. I also included the social media, pitch letter and media list for the collaboration.

I also created the poster and Staples Center tickets for the concert, along with my business card, modeled off of Muhtar Kent’s Coca-Cola business card.

Karen Klein Anti-Bulling Foundation Research & Report

I worked on a team of 5 to create a 35-page research report, containing a full situational analysis, quantitative research and original qualitative research for the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation in Syracuse, New York. Our client is currently based out of Seattle, but is trying to enter into the Syracuse community. I created the graphic designs and layout for the report, as well as contributing to all aspects of our research and recommendations.

IVMF Research & Report

I was the Account Executive for Hill Communications. Our client was the Institute for Veteran and Military Families. Our account team did primary and secondary research for IVMF as they move forward to become the number one resource for veterans and veteran families in the United States, through Syracuse University. We then created a communication and messaging strategy for IVMF to use as they recreate their social media presence.

Belly O’So Pregnant Media Kit & Report

I was an Account Associate forĀ Hill CommunicationsĀ at Syracuse University.Ā Our client was Belly O’So Pregnant, a mommy empowerment company to help with expecting mothers in the central New York area. I created the media kit design, poster and business card for Trameca Campbell. I also co-wrote the backgrounder in the media kit.

Mary Ann Shaw Center 20th Anniversary Program

This program was created for the Mary Ann Shaw Center’s 20th Anniversary lunch at Syracuse University, to celebrate the 20 wonderful years the Center has provided to Syracuse University and the Syracuse community. The programs were given to the distinguished members of the board and to all attendees.

Syracuse University Literacy Corps

These materials were created for the Literacy Corps, a Mary Ann Shaw Center for Public and Community Service initiative. The poster, kiosk poster, postcard flyer and thank you notes were created to further the mission of the Literacy Corps and encourage Syracuse University students to apply to be a Literacy Corps tutor.
